FirstCare provides settlement services to newly arrived migrants and refugees in the Macarthur region in the south-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

Many new arrivals to Australia need to adjust to living in a new culture and society where much of what they have known is different, can be complex and at times overwhelming.

FirstCare Settlement support services, with their focus on working with individuals and families in a person-centred and strengths-based approach, are well placed to work towards independence of migrants and refugees.

Our Settlement support services includes providing our service users with settlement-related information:

  • Advice and Referral
  • Advocacy
  • Assistance to access mainstream and other relevant services (Centrelink, Medicare, set-up bank accounts, assistance to enrol with TAFE etc.).
  • Training and building employment readiness
  • Assistance with acquisition of English language skills

All our services are delivered in accordance with a needs-based approach. Typically, our service users’ needs to align with the nine priority areas identified in the National Settlement Framework. Service users’ services has a key role in facilitating acquisition of English language skills, supporting engagement with education and training, and building employment readiness with services complementing other settlement and mainstream services

Our team will also be able to link you to other services which may be able to help you address any challenges you or your family might be facing during your emergency needs or family crisis.
